Home Interplanetary Life Lab (HILL) is a three-month home-residency project from April to June 2020 during the pandemic launched and funded by Kone Foundation. During the residency, I collect visual and choreographic material from space, exoplanets and astrobiological sources, observe stars, and create embodied experiments stemming from these elements. This process continues my work with astroembodied choreostructions, which examine choreographic thinking and practice beyond human scale and understanding in dialogue with interplanetary culture, astrobiology, speculative fiction, and the notion of queer(ing) space. Through site- and place-responsive practice the project continues to re-think the relation between art and Universe through extending the notions of ‘site’ and ‘place’ to space. The project is a prologue for my post.doctoral artistic research project xeno/ exo/ astro -choreoreadings.

Home Interplanetary Life Lab (HILL) – Interplanetaarisen KotiElämän Laboratorio on kolmen kuukauden mittainen pandeemisessa tilanteessa Kone Säätiön mahdollistama ja rahoittama kotiresidenssiprojekti huhtikuusta kesäkuuhun 2020. Taiteellista työtäni jatkavalla  residenssijaksolla kokoan visuaalista ja koreografista materiaalia avaruudesta, eksoplaneetoista ja astrobiologian lähteistä, havainnoin tähtitaivasta, sekä laadin näistä elementeistä nousevia kokeilevia kehollisia harjoitteita. Keholliset harjoitteet jatkavat työskentelyäni taiteellisten töiden parissa, joita kutsun astroruumiillisiksi koreostruktioiksi. Työt käyvät dialogia interplanetaarisen kulttuurin, astrobiologian, spekulatiivisen fiktion ja englanninkielisen termin ‘queer(ing) space’ kanssa. Projekti jatkaa paikkasidonnaisen ja site-specific praktiikan avulla taiteen tekemisen ja maailmankaikkeuden välisen suhteen pohdintaa venyttämällä paikan/site- käsitteen avaruuteen.
