Oumuamua_Gravity Escape is a choreographic installation that shifts the geo-centered human place-taking towards interplanetary scales and speeds. The work amplifies the site-sensitive choreographic practice by projecting the notion of ‘place’ to Outer Space. It brings together speculative fiction, terraforming imaginaries, and the choreographer’s experiments on astroembodiments. Spotted in October 2017, Oumuamua is the first confirmed interstellar body that moves through the Solar System. The work premieres in May 2021, when the vegetal and other organic life forms unfold in the northern hemisphere of the Earth. The work is part of my artistic-research postdoc -project xeno/exo/astro-choreoreadings.
Oumuamua_Painovoimapako on koreografinen installaatio, joka siirtää ihmisen Maa-keskeisen paikan ja paikantumisen interplanetaarisiin mittakaavoihin ja nopeuksiin. Työ avartaa paikkasidonnaisen koreografisen taiteen praktiikkaa venyttämällä ’paikan’ ulkoavaruuteen. Työssä yhdistyvät spekulatiivinen fiktio, maankaltaistamiskuvitelmat sekä koreografin astroruumiilliset kokeilut. Lokakuussa 2017 havaittu Oumuamua on ensimmäinen vahvistettu Aurinkokunnan läpi liikkuva tähtienvälinen kappale. Työ saa ensi-iltansa toukokuussa 2021, jolloin Maan pohjoisella pallonpuoliskolla eliö- ja kasvimaailman elämä puskee esiin.
